Hypodontie et oligodontie MSX1

Clinical features of oligodontia include six or more missing teeth, lack of development of maxillary and mandibular alveolar bone height and reduced lower facial height. Variation in tooth morphology is also observed along with problems in tooth development, eruption and exfoliation.

The most frequent missing teeth are the 2nd premolars, the 3rd molars, the 1st premolars and then the 1st molars.

A multiisciplinary approach would be the most effective. The team should ideally consist of a pedodontist, an orthodontist, a prosthodontist, and an implantologist.
